THE CLASS

The setting of the movie happened most in the classroom. The story runs on a teacher who named Mr. Marine and his students who have different behavior and unpleasant attitudes. One of them always argues at him, because she is very confident that she is much better to his teacher, in other words she is very boastful. Her name is Esmeralda. As a teacher we must show to the students that we have mastered our lessons and we are intelligent to avoid the curiosity that building up in the mind of your students especially if your students are really intelligent. You must exceed from them. Mr. Marine encountered also a student who has no interest in the class, he is a trouble maker. He always has conflicts to his classmates and to Mr. Marine and same with the other teacher. His name is Souleymane, he doesn’t respect other. This kind of student must be managed seriously, we must find out why he doesn’t have interest in the class and why he always gets into trouble. We must know his background because there are psychological factors that mold him to have that kind of behavior. Mr. Marine also have a student who is very talkative in the class, the most common problem in the class, her name is Khoumba. This kind of student must be discipline or you must implement a strategy to catch her attention so that she may cooperate to you class. And we have Wei who is intelligent but very shameful. It always happens that there are students who are shameful; we must encourage her/him to participate or motivate the student to build up confidence. We can assign the student to be a group leader if you have groupings. On the last scene of the movie, one of the students of Mr. Marine approached him and said that he doesn’t learn anything. In my side, both of them commit a mistake. On the part of student, he maybe did not listen well or lacking of interest to the subject matter in result that he has learned nothing. In the part of the teacher, I think Mr. Marine should evaluate his self if his teaching strategy is effective, in order to meet the capacity of the learners to learn. As a teacher we must manage our class accordingly, it is a challenge to handle students. So therefore, after evaluating your students, we must apply a strategy that would match to the capabilities, level of intelligence and behavior of your student. Always observe them and make adjustments in your teaching so that at the end of the class nobody will say to you that they have learned nothing.

POSTSCRIPT-SOME RANDOM THOUGHTS ON DEMONSTRATION

A good teacher can produce an excellent student. As a teacher we must be careful in conducting lecture or demonstration, especially if there are a lot of important points to be tackled. We must put in our mind that we are here to teach and you are in front of your students which we may presume that they have no knowledge and skills about your lesson. So therefore, we must demonstrate clearly and not in a hurry way but in a moderate way were the mob can follow your demonstration. It is better also to ask if they are still following or if they understand the first part before you continue. We must consider that not all of your students have the gift of intellect. We must also apply strategies and different methods of teaching in order to get the best result.

THE ART OF QUESTIONING

It is assumed that good teaching involves good questioning, especially when large groups of pupils/students are being taught. The types of question must be according to thinking process involves from low level to high level, the type of answers required and to the degree of a person exploration or valuing. This may help the learner to engage cognitive task like conception formation, generalizing and inferring, and the application of principles. Questioning can also encourage the learner to evaluate and diagnose the difficulties arising from the learning task. Questioning helps the teacher to know if his students have learned or not and on the part of the student, it helps him to understand the lesson and develop their potentialities.

THE SEMINAR

The seminar is a deliberative body looking for the solution to the problem from the evidence based on reading, experiences and minds of its participants. This may help us to develop our capabilities to solve problems through team work, cooperativeness and leadership. We can each one by exchanging ideas and learn also from them. If more brains are working together, much better.

LEARNING MODULE AS INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

Learning module are the most widely accepted instructional materials. A module is a self-contained and independent unit of instructing with a primary focus on few-defined objectives. It is easier to the learner to understand because its objectives and activities are properly sequenced, from the first step in the process through the order of steps as they appear. By this process the learner can experience the lesson and can develop to his optimum potential at his own pace.

THE DRILL LESSON

The drill lesson is intended for automatization of certain facts, information, habits, attitudes and skills to fix association for permanency or to perfect a certain degree a particular skill. This may help the learner to master the certain facts and information. The learners may able to apply what they have learned in meaningful experiences.
The application lesson gives the learners an opportunity to relate, express their thoughts and apply what they have learned. The learners may also able to illustrate the concept, or languages that they think or feel.

DEVELOPMENT LESSON

As an educator we must develop our lesson in order to teach effectively and use teaching materials or devices efficiently. If the deliberation of the lesson is well developed and organize it is easier for the learners to learn the lesson and the students also may appreciate the lesson and understand its importance. It is easier for them to see the significance of it in the reality.

LABORATORY METHOD

The next reporter explained about laboratory method. It is very important to us, especially our course is a computer field, and therefore, a lot of hands-on or actual activities will be conduct. Laboratory method offer opportunities for the learners to get real experiences which in effect, this may develop their skills and increase their interest and easier for them to understand the lesson.

Creativity lesson plan

When making a lesson plan you must also consider the creativeness of your lesson plan. In organizing your lesson plan or preparing your lesson plan you must have an adequate knowledge of the subject matter, knowing the nature of your student, familiarity of teaching strategies and methods, use materials and teaching aids and devices that will facilitate the teaching-learning process and through understanding of the objectives that relate to thrust of the Philippine Education.

COGNITIVE LEARNING

The next reporter discussed about the cognitive learning, as the reporter defined cognitive learning, it deals within the field of psychology as being aware of current intellectuality such as knowing and thinking. When conscious judgments are being made within the brain, the process is described as cognitive. It is important to know the mental capability of a student so teacher may adjust and know what field the student in needed to be improved. We can also relate to our personal experiences which are related to the lesson so that the students could easily understand and comprehend. For me to be an effective teacher we must be a good classroom manager, provide direct and explicit instructions, keep the learners, ask appropriate questions, emphasize comprehension monitoring, learning-to-learn skills and small group and individualize instructions.

Lesson plan

The lesson plan is an important tool of a teacher, this is use to be his/her guide in teaching. The teacher needs this as a blueprint of what he/she intends to build-whether this be knowledge and information, skills, desirable habits and attitudes. The teacher may able to prepare what materials he/she may use, the  methods he/she may apply and how the teacher motivate her/his students.
